Keys4Life Teachers

***New Keys4Life certificate system***

The new Keys4Life Portal is now the only way you can upload test results and receive Keys4Life certificates for your students. Read the new steps.

Keys4Life is a pre-driver program that empowers young people to make informed decisions about safer driving.

Only facilitators who have attended the Keys4Life professional learning workshop can deliver the Keys4Life program and administer the Learner’s Permit Theory Test. Browse and register for any upcoming workshops.

All Keys4Life teachers must have a teaching/education degree (and current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA) OR a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to deliver the program.

The Keys4Life Teacher Resource has 10 lessons that cover essential pre-driver and road safety education content. It is mapped to a selection of learning areas in the Western Australian Curriculum.

Behind the Wheel is a compulsory journal for Keys4Life students to complete at home before they sit the Learner’s Permit Theory Test.

The journal can also be completed using a writable PDF. It is not suitable for hand-held devices.

Involving and informing parents is an important part of an effective road safety program.

Keys4Life teachers should organise a Parent Information Session about licensing and learning to drive.

Teachers can use this flyer to promote the session.

Parents who attend will be given a Let's Practise booklet.

Students who successfully complete the Keys4Life program are provided with the opportunity to sit the Learner’s Permit Theory Test at school. Those who pass and have a valid Keys4Life certificate are granted an exemption from the theory test fee by the WA Department of Transport.
