Keys4Life Teachers
Keys4Life is a pre-driver program that empowers young people to make informed decisions about safer driving.
Only facilitators who have attended the Keys4Life professional learning workshop can deliver the Keys4Life program and administer the Learner’s Permit Theory Test as outlined in the program implementation.
All Keys4Life teachers must have a teaching/education degree (and current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA) OR a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to deliver the program.

Keys4Life Teacher Resource | Behind the Wheel Student Journal | Let's Practise | Learner's Permit Theory Test |
The Keys4Life Teacher Resource has 10 lessons that cover essential pre-driver and road safety education content. It is mapped to a selection of learning areas in the Western Australian Curriculum. |
Behind the Wheel is a compulsory journal for Keys4Life students to complete at home before they sit the Learner’s Permit Theory Test. The journal can also be completed using a writable PDF. It is not suitable for hand-held devices. |
Students who attend a Keys4Life Parent Workshop will be given a Let’s Practise booklet. This resource includes information about the Graduated Driver Training and Licensing (GDT&L) system in WA, the learn to drive process, and other handy tips about being a safer driver. 👉 Hard copies are not available for teachers to order. |
Students who successfully complete the Keys4Life program are provided with the opportunity to sit the Learner’s Permit Theory Test at school. Those who pass and have a valid Keys4Life certificate are granted an exemption from the theory test fee by the WA Department of Transport. |

This handbook is a comprehensive guide to the road rules that apply in Western Australia and has been written primarily to help new drivers prepare for a lifetime of safe driving. |
Only facilitators that have attended the Keys4Life one-day professional learning workshop can facilitate the Keys4Life program and administer the Learner’s Permit Theory Test. |
Keys4Life has been endorsed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA). Schools can choose one of two Keys4Life endorsed programs relevant for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. |
